counters. for each red mana spent for X add
another +1/+1 counter onto Thurma.
If damage would be dealt to Thurma while it
has a +1/+1 counter on it, prevent that damage
and remove a +1/+1 counter from Thurma.
Remove a +1/+1 counter: Thurma gains
flying until end of turn.
