Tinuilach was a gift from Elrohir, son of Elrond Half-
Elven at the birth of Beleg, Son of Amlaith, King of
Arnor. Elrohir joked that when the boy outgrew the
sword, he could pass it along to one of the Hobbits
making their way west over the Misty Mountains.
