The treaty declared the Pequot tribe dissolved; their lands were distributed among the colonists and their Native allies, and the remaining Pequot people were forbidden from identifying as Pequot. The survivors were either enslaved by the colonists or absorbed into other tribes such as the Mohegan and Narragansett.
