Valley of the end

Hashirama Senju was made the first
Hokage of Konoha which greatly
displeased his rival Madara Uchiha, who subsequently defected from the village.
The first Hokage emerged victorious, but
the carnage of their battle carved out the canyon that would become known as the Valley of the End
