Put all permanents on the battlefield into a face down pile, then shuffle that pile. Then, going in turn order, each player may bid any amount of life. The player who bid the most life flips up the top card of the pile, gains control of it, then loses life equal to the amount they bid. Continue this until the pile is empty.
