X and Y Boson Decay
The X and Y bosons couple quarks to leptons,
allowing violation of the conservation of baryon
number and permitting proton decay. In these
reactions, neither lepton number (L) or baryon
number (B) is conserved, but B - L is.
In this model, the groups SU(3) x SU(2) x U(1)
are combined into a single simple group, SU(5).
The X bosons have fractional electric charge,
spin of 1, X-charge of 0, and a predicted mass
that is potentially above ~10^15 GeV.
