Local to the Island of Madagascar, the Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur catta) is a mammal that lives in troops of 10-25. They are herbivores, foraging for fruit, leaves, flowers, tree bark, and sap. They weigh 5-7.5 lbs and measure 17.75-21.75 inches tall. Ring-Tailed Lemurs spend an unusually high part of their lives on the ground as compared to other lemur species, but are still on the endangered species list, owing to deforestation.
