Common Confederate Soldier

Confederate soldiers' uniform color was gray.
However, due to the Confederates being undersupplied the common soldier didn't often
have a gray uniform and more often wore their
own clothes or wore a "butternut" uniform,
which was a stolen uniform from a Union
soldier and then boiled in a solution with
walnut hulls, acorns, and lye.
