Condensation Polymerization
Monomers form polymers by being joined by
ester and amide bonds created. Water is also a
product since a H and an OH are removed to
link the monomers.
Must be two FG on each monomer!
If amide bonds are formed then it creates
a polyamide or nylon.
If ester bonds are formed then it creates
a polyester. Diacids and dialcohols undergo
esterification to form polyesters.
Ex of condensation polymers: Dacron & Nylon-6
