Cuban Independence

Castro recognized the United States as a political threat against his regime. Therefore, he isolated the Cuban economic state from the US to prevent any plans of subjugation and dependency on exports. This led him to reach out to the Soviet Union for trading relations as they both shared authoritarian regimes.
