Odysseus
Major Character: He is a short barrel-chested man especially
known for his cleverness and deceptiveness.
Before the race for Penelope, Odysseus had given a
potion of slowness to the rest of the suitors, disguised as
a regular drink; thus giving him an advantage to ultimately
win.
"'Don't gamble with Odysseus, the friend of Hermes,'
they said. 'You'll never win."
